Laura Rose Fisher, 82, of East D Street, Kannapolis, NC, passed away Friday, April 6, at CHS – NorthEast.
She was born, February 23, 1936 in Cabarrus County, NC the late Tola Rose, Sr. and the late Victoria Russell Rose.
Laura was educated in the Kannapolis School System and was a graduate of G.W. Carver High School. She retired from Cannon Mills. Laura was a member of Bethel AME Zion Church where she served on the Senior Choir, Mass Choir, and Kitchen Committee. She was also a member of the Senior Plus Sr. Center where she was a Senior Fitness Instructor.
Services will be held Friday, April 13 at Bethel AME Zion Church. Visitation will be 1:00 – 2:00 PM, with funeral services at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Fisher, Sr.; sister, Doris Rose,; brother, James William Rose and grandson, Britt L. Rose.
Those left to cherish fond memories include three daughters, Rev. Paulette R. Caldwell of Concord, Sherri Fisher of Jamestown, NC, Lori D. Turner (Stanley) of Statesville, NC; three sons, Walter Rose, Sr. of Winston Salem, NC, James M. Fisher of Salisbury, NC, Stacey T. Fisher of Kannapolis; 12 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; sister, Frances R. Mingo of Kannapolis; two brothers, Tola Rose, Jr. (Lillian) and Donald w. Rose (Janie) both of Kannapolis and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
