Cathy Diane (Johnson) McClorey

Cathy Diane (Johnson) McClorey, 70, of Cooper Ave., Kannapolis, NC;  departed this earthly life  on Monday, April 22, 2024 at Atrium Health- Cabarrus.

She was born June 20, 1953 in Cabarrus County to the late Manly Johnson, Sr., and the late Margaret L. Howie Johnson.

Cathy was educated in the Cabarrus County School System and a graduate of A. L. Brown High School.   She was a homemaker. Cathy was a member of First Christian Church where she served on the Christian Women’s Fellowship, and Diaconate Board. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star Concord Chapter and the First Assembly Quilting Club.

Services will be held Sunday, April 28, 2024 at Kittie M. Sanson Chapel at Barber Scotia College, 145 Cabarrus Ave., Concord, NC. Visitation 1:30 M to 2:00 PM with service at 2:00 PM.  Burial will be Monday, April 29, 2024 at 10:00 AM at VA National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd., Salisbury, NC 28144

In addition to her parents,’ she was preceded in death by her grandmother, Viola Sumlin;  son, Amos McClorey, Jr.; sister, Sandra Johnson; niece, Paris Johnson; and her furry friend, Casey.

Those left to cherish fond memories include her husband, Amos McClorey, Sr. of the home;  one daughter, Tera McClorey (Greg Frick) of Charlotte, NC; three grandchildren, Taryn Hare, Imani Miller, and Caleb Perdew; four sisters, Melodie Bridges (Kenneth), Cynthia DeCosta (Michael) both of Kannapolis, NC, Judy Hamilton of Harrisburg, NC, Tamara Franklin (Norman) of Kannapolis, NC; one brother, Manly Johnson, Jr. (Theresa) of Kannapolis, NC; three brothers in-law, Raymond Johnson, Beafus Miller and Dennis McClorey; special aunt, Carrie Carrington of Concord, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and  friends.

Due to Covid-19, masks are appreciated if worn in all services.
