Martha Catherine Foster-Johnson

Martha Catherine Taylor Foster-Johnson, 86, of Eastwood Drive, Kannapolis, NC, departed this earthly life on  Sunday, March 24, 2024 at Atrium Health-Cabarrus.

She was born June 24, 1937 in Granville County to the late Hunter Harvey Taylor and the late Mattie Mae Morton Taylor.

Martha received her education in the Granville County School System. She was a graduate of Berry Gold School. Martha was also a graduate of North Carolina Central University, Durham, North Carolina and University North Carolina, Charlotte, NC She was formerly employed with Kannapolis City School System.  Martha was a member of Bethel AME Zion Church.

Services will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Bethel A.M.E Zion Church, 2219 Dale Earnhardt Blvd., Kannapolis, NC. Visitation is from 1:00 PM-2:00 PM with funeral at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Van Harold Foster and Willie Lee Johnson, brother, Gerald Jackson Taylor.

Those left to cherish her fond memories include one daughter, Angela Vanessa Foster of Kannapolis, NC; step son, Willie Lee Johnson, Jr., step daughter, Bonnie Foster Vicks; four sisters, Beulah Johnson (Woodrow) of Marion, SC; Mary Virginia Jones (Randolph) of Stovall, NC; Barbara Boyd (Hermon) of Manson, NC; Annie Royster of Bullock, NC and a host nieces, nephews, cousins,  other  relatives, and friends.

Due to Covid-19, masks are appreciated if worn in all services.
