Steven Leroy Shipp

Steven Leroy Shipp, 74, of  Winston Dr., Concord, NC departed this earthly life  on Wednesday,  March 13, 2024 at his residence.

He was born August 25, 1949 in Washington, DC to the late Carl Edward Shipp and the late Doris Elizabeth Locke Shipp.

Steven was educated in the Cabarrus County School System and was a graduate of  Logan High School and RCCC.  He was previously employed with the Concord Fire Department.

Services will be held Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Barber Scotia College, Kittie M. Sanson Chapel, 145 Cabarrus Ave., W, Concord, NC  28025. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM with funeral services at 1:00 PM. A burial will follow at Rutherford Memorial Cemetery, Concord, NC.

Those left to cherish fond memories include his wife, Vernie Bost Shipp of the home; one daughter, Kimberly Shipp Kelly (Scottie) of Kannapolis, NC; one son, Steven A. Shipp (Tabelech) of Concord, NC; five grandchildren, Zenethia N. Shipp, Zavier A.G. Shipp, Jaylen B. Gause, Zahria J. Shipp, Kelby A. Gause; five sisters, Jacqueline Washington (Buford) of Charlotte, NC, Katherine Woods (Royce) and Sharon Ross both of Ft. Washington, MD, Denise Shipp and  Donna Harris (Lilton) both of Richmond, VA; two brothers, Barry Carl Shipp of Charlotte, NC, Darryl Jameson (Denise) of Upper Marlboro, MD and a host of sister in-laws, brother in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
