Calvin Bernard Williams, 83, of Quill Court, Kannapolis, NC passed away Wednesday, September 4, at Atrium Health NorthEast.
He was born August 11, 1936 in Montgomery County, MD, to the late Walter Turner Williams and the late Corrie Blanche Barks Williams.
Calvin was a graduate of Lincoln Carver High School in Maryland and served in the US Army. He was formerly employed by the US Postal Service. Calvin was a former member of Sandy Springs United Methodist Church and Good Hope United Methodist Church; where he served on the Men’s Choir and the Conference Lay Leader of the Baltimore-Washington Conference. He currently was a member of Greater Vision United Methodist Church in Huntersville, NC, Trail Riders of Today and VFW.
Services will be held Saturday, September 14, at Greater Vision United Methodist Church 11901 Eastfield Rd., Huntersville, NC. Visitation will be 11:00 – 11:30 AM with funeral services at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
Those left to cherish fond memories include: his wife, Dorothy Johnson Williams of the home; son, Paul Bernard Williams, Sr., of Kannapolis; three daughters, Wanda Williams-Hollis (Jarvis); Tammy L. Garrison (Earl Lee, Jr.) and Vickie L. Williams all of Kannapolis; five grandchildren, Paul B. Williams, Jr., Amy M. Jones, Elliot L. Garrison, Ethan S. Garrison, Hannah E. Garrison; three great-grandchildren, Mason G. Williams, Loren M. Williams, Myles E. Williams; two brothers, Walter T. Williams, Jr. (LaVonne) of Cornelius, Thomas W. Williams of Maryland; three sisters, Sylvia Lee Crowder (John), Dorothy Jean Williams and Debra L. Lee (Tyrone) all of Maryland; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
