Clara Mae Parks, 76, of Cabarrus Arms Dr., Kannapolis, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at Atrium Health-Northeast.
She was born, January 4, 1942 in Cabarrus County to the late Wash McCollough and the late Rose Beatrice Parks Wallace.
Clara was educated in the Kannapolis City School System. She was a member of Bethpage United Presbyterian Church where she sang on the Senior Choir, Combination Choir and the Touring Choir. Clara was a former member of the Order of Eastern Star.
Services will be held Friday, September 28, at Bethpage United Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM with funeral services at 12:00PM. Burial will follow at church cemetery.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Frederick Parks and brother Wayne "Sonny" Parks.
Those lfet to cherish her memories include a daughter, Stephanie Drye of Kannapolis; six grandchildren, Shyesha Parks, Derrick Parks (Lakesha), Joshua Russell, Dominick Parks, Desmond Walters and Brittney Walters; 21 great grandchildren; three sisters, Vanessa Johnson, Millie McCollogh both of Kannapolis, Harriet McCollough of Savannah, GA; four brothers, Michael Parks, Proctor Parks (Shirley), Jerry Lynn Parks all of Kannapolis and Mason Parks McCollough of Statesville, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
