Ernest Eugene Ross, 76, of Central Drive, Concord, NC, passed away Friday, June 22, at the Tucker Hospice House.
He was born May 15, 1942, in Cabarrus County to the late Susan Barnett Ross and the late Bo Walker.
Earnest was educated in the Concord Schools and a graduate of Logan High School. He also graduated from Bull City Barber College and was a barber for a number of years. Ernest was a member of Rock Hill AME Zion Church where formerly served on the choir, life member of the Missionary Department and Chairman of the Trustee Board.
Services will be held Tuesday, June 26, at Rock Hill AME Zion Church. Visitation will be 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM with funeral services at 12:00. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Ernest was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Willie Ross.
Those left to cherish fond memories include his wife, Margaret Carrington Ross of the home; daughter, Lynitta Watson (Bruce) of Stone Mountain, GA; two grandsons, Antonio Thomas of Ellenwood, GA; Bryce Thomas of Stone Mountain, GA; two sisters, Alice Springs (Carl) and Janie Cannon (Buford) both of Concord; one aunt, Louise McCoy of Washington, DC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
