Henry Floyd Whatley, Sr., 68, of 1201 Berkshire Drive, Kannapolis, NC, passed away Monday, July 29, 2019, at Tucker Hospice House.
He was born January 14, 1951, in Washington, DC to the late Willie Floyd Whatley and the late Evelyn Skinner Whatley.
Henry graduated from Spingarn High School and served in the US Air Force for 20 years. After his military career, he worked in Law Enforcement and Security.
Services will be held Saturday, August 3, at Clark Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. with funeral services at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be Monday, August 5, at 10:00 a.m. at the National Cemetery in Salisbury, NC.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Michael Whatley; brother, Tyrone Whatley, and four sisters, Carolyn A. Whatley, Beverly W. Marsh, Delores Redrick and Novella Valentine.
Those left to cherish fond memories include his wife, Victoria Clay Whatley of the home; two sons, Henry F. Whatley, Jr., Washington, DC, Jamal Whatley of South Carolina, one daughter, Patreace Alexander-Whatley of Texas; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Willie Mae Whatley of Charlotte, Laverne Whatley of Washington, DC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
