Obituary

James “Jimmy” Thomas Brown, 83, of Mt. Moriah Church Road, China Grove, NC, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2019, at his residence.

He was born July 13, 1936 in Cabarrus County, to the late John Luther Brown and the late Ethel Knox Brown.

Jimmy was a graduate of Aggrey High School and Carver College of Charlotte and served in the US Navy.  He was formerly employed by Bendix Corp.  Jimmy was a member of Bethpage United Presbyterian Church where he has served as Chairman of the Deacon Board, Usher, he was a member of the Sandy Ridge Masonic Lodge; and also played semi-pro baseball for the Kannapolis Blues.

Services will be held at Bethpage United Presbyterian Church, 8701 Mooresville Rd., Concord, on Thursday, October 31.  Visitation will be 1:00 – 2:00 PM, with funeral services at 2:00 PM.  Burial will be Friday, November 1, at 9:00 AM at the National Cemetery in Salisbury.

Those left to cherish his memories include his wife, Clara Kathryn Brown of the home; daughter, Kimberly Miller Hamilton of Richmond, VA; stepson, Thomas Miller Roseman of Landis; grandson, Desmond Miller of Concord; niece reared as a sister, Sharon Brooks of Kannapolis; nephews reared as brothers, Talmadge Brown (Shelia) Rev. R.J. Brown (Dorothy) of Concord; aunt, Ellen Knox of Kannapolis; sister-in-law, Louise Brown of Landis; brother-in-law, Rev. Dr. W.D. Roseman (Verness);  and a host of other relative and friends.
