Jessie David Stanback, Sr., 77, of S. Little Texas Rd., Kannapolis, NC, passed away Tuesday, August 28, at the State Veterans Home in Salisbury, NC.
He was born December 21, 1940 in Cabarrus County to the late Jesse James Stanback and the late Odessa Sloan Stanback.
Jessie was a graduate of G.W. Carver High School Class of 1958, he attended Barber Scotia College and Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. He served in the US Army and retired from truck driving. Jessie was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church where he served as a Trustee, member of the Men’s Choir, Usher Board, Van Driver, Men for Living and was active at the food pantry prior to declining health.
Services will be held Saturday, September 1, at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. Visitation will be 12:00 – 1:00 PM with funeral services at 1:00. Burial will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his wife, Fancie Louise Ford Stanback and a brother, Johnny Stanback.
Those left to cherish fond memories include a daughter, Felicia Stanback of Kannapolis, two sons, Jessie Stanback, Jr. (Yolanda) and Jonathan Stanback (Ramona) both of Kannapolis; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Calvin Stanback and Bill Stanback (Clara) both of Kannapolis and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
