Rosia Lee Weaks Goins, 96, of Booker Drive, Concord, NC, passed away Friday, August 16, at Carillon Assisted Living of Harrisburg.
She was born April 18, 1922 in Cabarrus County to the late Beulah Weaks Caldwell.
Rosia was educated in the Cabarrus County Schools and was a graduate of Logan High School, she continued her education at Barber Scotia College. Rosia was formerly employed with Pillowtex and was a member of Price Memorial AME Zion Church where she served as a Deaconess, Usher, Sunday School Teacher, former treasurer of the Missionary Society and on the Hospitality Committee.
Services will be held Wednesday, August 21, at Price Memorial AME Zion Church. Visitation will be 12:00 - 1:00 PM with funeral services at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Rutherford Memorial Cemetery
Those left to cherish fond memories include four daughters Nancy G. Livingston of Concord, Gwendolyn G. Weathers (William Eugene) of Charlotte, Sylvia G. Currie-Johnson (James) of Kannapolis, Roxann G. Franklin (Paxton) of Concord; two sons, Webster Goins (Vera) of Concord, Sherman Goins (Judy) of Charlotte; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; sister, Mary Ann Garrett f Holy Oaks, MA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family is meeting at the home of her daughter, 1547 Kingston Drive, Kannapolis, NC.
