Sarah Elizabeth McCrae James, 69, of Coldwater Lane, Kannapolis, NC fell asleep Sunday, August 4, at the Tucker Hospice House.
She was born July 29, 1950 in Dillon County, SC to the late Lilia McCrae and the late Lillie Mae McCullum McCrae.
Sarah was educated in the public schools of South Carolina and attended Dillon High School. She was formerly employed by Cannon Mills. Sarah joined St. John Born Again Church in Camden, NJ; when she moved down south she became a member of Vision of Life Ministries in Latta, SC.
Services will be held Saturday, August 10, at Clark Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be 2:00– 3:00 PM with funeral services at 3:00 PM. Burial will follow New Smith Chapel Pentecostal Church Cemetery..
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three grandchildren, Adrionna Henderson, Zy’mire McKinley and Zy’mirea McKinley; one brother, James Edward McCrae; four sisters, Ezella Jeanette, Geneva Wheeler, Lillie Mae Tart, Olivia Jean Harrell
Those left to cherish fond memories include: two daughters, Tanya Crespo (Thomas) of Kannapolis, Alexandria Glenn (Tyrone) of Charlotte; one son, James Henderson (Chuckia) of Kannapolis; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; step son, James Henderson of Camden, NJ; two step-daughters Jamie Utley and Meredith Henderson both of Camden, NJ; sisters, Queen Esther Bullock, Helen McCrae, Teresa McDuffie, Gloria Bland, Pamela McCrae, Amesha McCrae and Carolyn McCrae; brothers, Lilia McCrae, Jr., Lonnie McCrae, Robert McCrae, Charles McCrae, Curtis McCrae, Terry McCrae; godsons, George Thompson, Pastor Albert McCloud; god-daughter, Lydia Jenkins; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
