Annie Knox Grier, 96 of Atlanta St., Kannapolis, NC, departed this earthly life on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at her residence. She was born January 29, 1926, in Cabarrus County to the late Cletus Knox, Sr. and the late Bertha Brown Knox.

Annie was educated in the Kannapolis City School System and a graduate of G.W. Carver High School. She was formerly employed with the Cannon Mills.

Annie was a member of Bethpage United Presbyterian Church where she was the mother of the Church.  Annie was a founding member of the Mary Bertha Circle and The Bethpage Spiritual Singers.  She was also a member of the Women’s Organization, Cooking Committee and Lifetime Honorary Senior Citizens Organization.

Service will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Bethpage United Presbyterian Church, 8701 Mooresville Road, Concord, NC 28027. Visitation will be 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM with services at 2:00 PM. A burial will follow at the church cemetery.

In addition to her parents, Annie was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Grier; three children, Willie Knox, Sr., Joyce Fowler, Vernon Knox; two grandchildren, Tefara Grier, William “Tyler” Knox; four brothers, Alonzo Knox, Clarence Knox, Frank Knox, L.J. Knox; four sisters, Pauline White, Ruth Grier, Berthena Russell, Aggie Miller.

She leaves to cherish her fond memories, two daughters, Chrystal Shipp (Tommy) of Concord, Clorena L. Grier of the home; six grandchildren; Vanessa Thompson (Marvin), Willie Knox, Jr. (Anita), Candis Grier Hair (Franco), Clinton Thompson, Jr., Braxton Shipp, LaToya Brown; 11 great-grandchildren, Tiera Grier, Jocelyn Slaughter (Ricardo), Willie “Trey” Knox, III, Jalisa Knox, Kamari Cadet, Jerzi Torrence, Nolen Torrence, Kamelia Hair, A’Kelia Thompson, Adonis Thompson, Monique Goodman (Frank); one brother, Cletus Knox, Jr. of Cleveland, NC; three sisters, Naomi Knox, and Mary Bost both of Kannapolis, NC, Jessie Watson of Winston Salem, NC; one aunt, Ellen Knox of Kannapolis, NC; two brothers-in-law, Willie Miller, Willie Lewis Grier; one sister-in-law, Mary Grier; goddaughter, Melanie Joy Lipscomb and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins' other relatives and friends.

Due to Covid-19 Masks are appreciated if worn to all services.
