Annie Mae Shinn, 101, of Vance Dr., NE, Concord, departed this earthly life on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at her residence. She was born April 19, 1921, in Salley, SC to the late Rosie Bottom.
Annie was educated in the Cabarrus County School System and was Self Employed in Child Care. Annie was a former member of First Missionary Baptist Church where she previously served on the Missionary Society, Senior Choir and Usher Board.
Services will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Clark Funeral Home Chapel, 923 Indiana Street, Kannapolis, NC 28083. Visitation will be 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM; with funeral services at 12:00 PM. A burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Henry Shinn, Sr.; one daughter, Mary Stanback; three sons, Jimmy Shinn, Johnny Shinn, and Willie Shinn.
She leaves to cherish her fond memories, her six daughters, Lucille Bell of Concord, Dorothy Norris of Kannapolis, Emma Shinn of Concord, Gwendolyn Weeks (Joseph) of Columbia, SC, Linda Shinn of Kannapolis, and Evelyn Stokes of the home; three sons, Fred Shinn, Jr. of Concord, Walter Shinn of Brooklyn, NY, Billy Shinn of Charlotte; sixty-seven grandchildren, seventy-two great-grandchildren; forty-eight great great-grandchildren; one sister, Corrine Foard of Concord and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
