Bishop Wade Henry Easom Sr., was born on August 15, 1945 in Asheboro, North Carolina. He departed this world and went home to the Lord on Monday, January 15, 2024.
Bishop Easom, after serving as a United States Army veteran, graduated from Lee University in 1976. He served with distinction as a Church of God minister for more than five decades and gave outstanding spiritual leadership as Pastor of several local churches for more than sixteen years. He served with distinction as the Lead Pastor of Lane Street Church of God now named Living Water, a Church of God Fellowship from July 9, 1987 to July 9, 2022. He served on several Western North Carolina State boards, was elected membership to the Western North Carolina State Youth board, Western North Carolina State Council and appointed as the Western North Carolina MIP Board Chairman for eight years; and as an Ordained Bishop he has set a personal example of visionary leadership, tender humility, and spiritual depth; and he presided a tenure of thirty-five years as the Lead Pastor of the Living Water Church of God with grace, professionalism, patience, and kindness.
He is survived by his partner in life and ministry, Judy Smith Easom; daughter Tonya and husband Kevin, son Wade Jr. and wife Carrie; grandchildren Becca and husband Jonathon, Kaitlin, Kai, and Phoenix; brother James Roy (Jimmy) and wife Linda; and many dearly loved nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents Reverand JR and Mary Easom; son Anthony (Tony); sister Peggy and husband Bill, sister Delores and husband Dick.
Bishop Easom never met a stranger and found great joy in loving people like Christ. He ministered to everyone with his whole heart and expected nothing in return. In his honor, the family asks that any remembrances be made as a donation to Living Water where Bishop Easom casted a vision to serve and minister to the community he loved without reservation.
The family extends their love, gratitude, and appreciation to the Living Water family and Little Texas community for their support in every way during this time.
Services will be held Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Living Water Church of God, 166 N. Little Texas Rd., Kannapolis, NC 28083. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM with funeral services at 2:00 PM.
