Dorothy Luvella (Webb) Anderson

Obituary

Dorothy Luvella Webb Anderson answered her Heavenly Father’s call on Wednesday, January 20th, 2021 at her residence.  She was born February 19, 1949 in Durham County to the late  Edward James Webb and the late Rosetta Rogers Webb.

Dorothy received her early education at Pearson and C.C. Spaulding Elementary Schools.  She was a cheerleader at Whitted Junior High School and a graduate of Hillside High School.  She was formerly employed at IBM as an electronic card assembler and quality control; in 1981 she transferred to the Charlotte Facility to work as a Quality Specialist.

December 27, 1980, Dorothy married the man of her dreams; she and Gerald has had over 40 loving years together.  Dorothy was a charter member of Bell Yeager Freewill Baptist Church in Durham, NC.  She was a loving wife, devoted mother, a proud grandmother and welcomed all children even those who weren’t her own.  Dorothy had a passion for cooking, taking care of her family and had a giving heart; she would help anyone she could.

Services will be held on Tuesday, January 26, at Bell Yeager Free Will Baptist Church, 128 E. Cornwallis Road, Durham, NC.  Visitation will be 11:00 AM with funeral services at 12:00 PM.  Burial will follow at Glen View Memorial Park in Durham.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Ray Anderson; daughter, Kimberly Renee Anderson; brothers, Robert Rogers, Walter Penny; sisters Rosa Lee Gibson, Lillie Mae Faison.

Those left to cherish her memory includes her husband Gerald Anderson of the home; two sons, Michael Butler, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL, Eric Butler of Concord; two daughters, Nicole McCallum, Candace Anderson both of Concord; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Marjorie Webb-McAllister, Carrie Nichols both of Durham, NC, Willie Webb of Tulsa OK; one brother, James Rogers of Virginia; special daughter, Ashlyn Hedgepeth of Concord and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
