He was born on February 9, 1955, in Cabarrus County to Julia Bost Barber and Thomas Barber and the late Robert Sanders.

Memorial services will be on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Clark Funeral Home Chapel, 923 Indiana Street, Kannapolis, NC. Memorial services at 3:00 PM.

Harold is survived by one son, Artansal Finell Phillips (Nell); one granddaughter, Naudia Rucker; three great grandchildren, Aubrey, Autumn, and Avery Rucker; parents, Julia B. Barber and Thomas Barber of Concord, NC; two brothers, Robert A. Sanders of Kannapolis, NC; and Nathaniel Bostic of Concord, NC; one sister, Donna Norris (Mark) of Kannapolis, NC; two aunts, Betty B. Reid of Lexington, NC; and his favorite aunt Ruth "Sissy" Jordan (Nathaniel) of Kannapolis, NC; three nieces, LaToya W. Shankle (Chris), Shondra Wilson, and Sharka Smoutherson; four nephews, DeQuan Sanders, ShaJuan Wilson, Sakelo Smoutherson, and Jammel Smoutherson, and a host of cousins and friends.
