James Howard Rogers, Sr.

1931 - 2021



James Howard Rogers, Sr., 89, Zion Church Road, Concord, NC passed away Wednesday, July 7, at his residence.

He was born September 10, 1931 in Columbus, MS to the late Warren Rogers and the late Mattie Bonner Rogers.

James was educated in the public schools of Mississippi and retired from the US Army.  He was a very active member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Concord.

Private Graveside Services will be held at the National Cemetery in Salisbury, NC.

He was preceded in death by a host of brothers.

Those left to cherish fond memories include his wife, Lue Ida Rogers of the home; four daughters, Gwendolyn E. Magee (Lee) of Concord, NC, Carolyn E. Cotton (Ray) of Baltimore, MD, Joycelyn Mines (Andre) of Atlanta, GA, Rosalyn Childs (Kevin) of Manassas, VA; three sons, Vincent H. Rogers, Winfred T. Rogers both of Tacoma, WA, James H. Rogers, Jr. of Concord, NC; 26 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Georgia Flanagan of Bessemer, AL and a host of cousins, in-laws, and friends.

Deacon Rogers was a faithful  Christian  man .He was full of wisdom & knowledge.He was an inspiration. 
a great Bible teacher.Always gave good sound advice. He was our security  before we had a security team .  He was always on duty in our church lobby.   His memories will live in our hearts forever.         Mae C  Black &   Henry  W. Black
