John Smith

John Smith, 74, of Tom Hunter Rd, Charlotte, NC answered his heavenly Father’s call on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Hunter Woods Nursing & Rehabilitation, Charlotte, NC

He was born June 8, 1949, in Cumberland County, NC to the late Booker Taliafero Smith and the late Irma Phillips Smith.

John was educated in the Cumberland County School System and was formerly employed with a Military Base.

Services will be held Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Clark Funeral Home Chapel, 923 Indiana St., Kannapolis, NC.  Visitation will be held from 12:00 – 1:00 PM with funeral services at 1:00 PM.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Martha Lowman (Willie), Emma Bell Council (Richard), Betty McCall (William) and Minnie Smith Kelly.

Those left to cherish fond memories include five daughters, LeVeda Moore of Fayetteville, NC, Erma Smith-Goodson (Deatrice) of Florence, SC, Marjorie Davis (Rob) of Charlotte, NC, Carol Smith of Columbia, SC, Immeena Smith of Colorado Springs, CO; three sons, Adrian Jon Smith (Kiyana) of Spencer, NC, Marques Smith (Kenya) of Columbia, SC, Deon Smith of Miami, FL; 20 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; siblings, Booker T. Smith, Jr. (Corrine), Mary Denny, Erma Smith, Harold Smith (Vanessa) all of Fayetteville, NC, Ruby Smith of Silver Springs, MD, Virginia McClariens (Randy) of Atlanta, GA, Marilyn Parks (Mark) of Raeford, NC and George Smith (Alice) of Hope Mills, NC, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
