Obituary

LaVerne Thelena Steele, 81, of Gamble Drive, NW, Concord, departed this earthly life on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at Tucker Hospice House. She was born February 26, 1941, in Birmingham, AL to the late Walter Steele and the late Birda Taylor Inman.

LaVerne was graduate of Franklin K. Lane High School. She was formally employed with Kirschenbaum, Shapiro & Marrow Law Firm.  LaVerne was a member of New Life Baptist Church, Concord, NC.

Services will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at New Life Baptist Church, 1281 Biscayne Drive, Concord, NC 28027.  Visitation will be 1:00 PM – 1:30 PM; with memorial services at 1:30 PM. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Ralph Anthony; a sister, Denise Hamilton; a brother, James (Jimmy) Inman, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her fond memories, her daughter, Cheryl McQueen of Concord; two grandchildren, Corey Williams of Concord, Tiffany Stanley of FL; her brother, Walter Steele (Bessie); brother-in-law, Steven Hamilton; nieces, Dawn Durant (Steven), Denise Pierre-Louis; nephews, Kelvin Steele (Lucy), Chris Hamilton and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.

Due to Covid-19 Mask must be worn to all services.
