Louise Mary (Sumlin) Hurd, 83 of Booker Dr., SW, Concord, NC, departed this earthly life on Monday, May 4, 2026, at Kannapolis Health & Rehabilitation, Kannapolis, NC.

She was born on March 15, 1943, in Cabarrus County to the late John Law and the late Carrie May Starks Sumlin Law.

Louise was a graduate of Logan High School and formerly employed with Vi Tech.

Louise attended Mt. Calvary Family Worship Center and Trump Church of Concord.  She was a member of the Logan Senior Center.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Clark Funeral Home Chapel, 923 Indiana St., Kannapolis, NC from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM.

Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Rutherford Memorial Cemetery 325 Amber Ct., SW, Concord, NC at 1:30 PM

Louise leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Bernard Sumlin (Marie) of North Los Vegas, NV and Michael Hurd of Pomona, CA; three grandchildren, Michael Hurd, Jr., Michelle Hurd, and Rodnisha Morris; 2 great grandchildren;  one brother, David Sumlin of Fontana, CA; four sisters, Emily Slaughter, Carrie Johnson both of Concord, NC, Kay Briggs of Kannapolis, NC and Betty Abied of Gaithersburg, MD; a host of nieces, nephew, cousins along with special family and friends, Kenneth Briggs, Arthette Briggs Spears (Alfred), Kerry and Kelly Briggs, Danielle Sumlin, Jon Slaughter and Kaomi Plymouth, Agie Whiteside, Carla Slaughter, Clarissa Rice Powe, Ivory Rose, Sr., Carolyn Lawing, Luther Brice, Mary Starks, Nita Robinson, Tom Smotherson, Minister Billy Pore and Family, Rev. Clifford Pauling, and others.
