Obituary
Joy Lurean Edwards Gamble, 92, of Booker Drive, Concord, NC; passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at Atrium Health Cabarrus.
She was born August 11, 1930, in Cabarrus County to the late Andrew George Washington Edwards and the late Gladys Johnson Edwards.
Lurean attended the Cabarrus County Schools and Rowan Cabarrus Community College. She was formerly employed with the Coltrane Life Center. Lurean was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.
Service will be held on Friday, August 11, at Grace Lutheran Church, 58 Chestnut Drive, Concord, NC 28025. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM with funeral service at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Rutherford Memorial Cemetery.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Elton Edwards, grandson, Stanley Bost; brother Henry “Zock” Horton; sister, Loretta Pitts.
Those left to cherish her memories include, three daughters, Connie Bost of Concord, NC, Brenda Anthony (Ronnie) of Kannapolis, NC, Glenda Gamble of the home; one son, Micharl Edwards (Sylvia) of Concord, NC; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends
