Mary Mildred Peay Cureton, 95 of Concord Lake Road, Kannapolis, NC, passed away Monday, October 5 2020 at Transitional Healthcare, Kannapolis.
She was born April 27, 1925 in Lancaster, SC to the late Nickolas Peay and the late Pearl Brooks Peay.
Mildred was educated in the South Carolina public schools and was formerly employed with Cannon Mills. Mildred was a fromer member of Mt. Carmel AME Zion Church in Lancaster, where she served on the Missionary Board; and currently a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church.
Services will be held Sunday, October 11, at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. 204 N. Little Texas Road, Kannapolis. Visitation will be 2:00 – 3:00 PM, with funeral services at 3:00. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Lee Cureton; four daughter, Delorise Cureton, Elise Cureton, Ophelia Cureton, Francis Moody; three sons, Reginald Segers, Melvin Cureton, Horace Cureton,
Those who shall forever cherish her memory include two daughters, Roberta Dinkins (Billy) of Upper Marlboro, MD, Barbara Covington of the home; two sons, Angelo Cureton of the home, Gary Cureton of Albemarle; 12 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; special friend, Ethel Caldwell; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
