Mary Juanita (Sloan) Tabor

Mary Juanita Sloan Tabor, 75 of Hollins Dr, Salisbury, NC, departed this earthly life on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Novant Health-Rowan Medical Center, Salisbury, NC.  She was born June 2, 1947, to the late Floyd Sloan Sr. and the late Geraldine Hawkins Sloan in Rowan County.

Mary was educated in the Rowan County School System and a graduate of Price High School, class of 1965, she was a member of Mt. Calvary Holy Church, where she served on the Missionary Board, Benevolence Committee, and a member of the Choir.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter E. Tabor; two brothers Floyd Sloan Jr. and Dennis Sloan.

Services will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 300 S. Caldwell St., Salisbury, NC.  Visitation will be from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM; with funeral services at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at 1:00 PM at the Salisbury Historic National Cemetery.

Those left to cherish her memories include a son Timothy Tabor of Jonesboro, GA; three grandchildren Tyree M. Tabor Sr., Tiara Tabor, Tyler Edward Tabor; two great grandchildren Tyree M. Tabor Jr and TyAsia K. Tabor; one sister Pauline Joanne Huntley; one brother Darrell Sloan; a brother in-law Dr. Willie J. Tabor of Charlotte, NC and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
