Obituary

Mary Esther (Rhyne) Young, 87, of Athens Street, Kannapolis, departed this earthly life on Monday, May 16, 2022, at Tucker Hospice House. She was born April 28, 1935, in Cabarrus County to the late John Wesley Rhyne, Sr. and the late Mamie Geneva Wilson Rhyne.

Mary was educated at the Kannapolis City School System and was a graduate of G.W. Carver High School. Mary was formerly employed with the NY State Employment Office.  She was a member of Blessed Assurance Church-Kannapolis.

Graveside Services will be held on Monday, May 23, 2022, at 12:00 PM at Carolina Memorial Park.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Rosalind Anderson, Jacqueline Russell; one son, Ronnie Rhyne; siblings, Betty Cannon, Douglas Rhyne, Jesse Rhyne, Douglas Rhyne, John Wesley Rhyne, Jr. and Archie Rhyne.

She leaves to cherish her fond memories, one daughter, Wanda Moss of Kannapolis; one son, Warren Young of the home; twenty-three grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren; eight great great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
