Maurice D’Angelo Knox was born on July 31, 1963 in Concord, North Carolina to Mary Barnes Knox and the late Fredrick Knox. He was the first of four children born to the marriage. He attended A.L. Brown high school. He married Bridget Harris of China Grove, NC. He would make a career of truck driving, attending truck driving school shortly after marriage. He moved to New York and later married Quonethia Doss. He relocated back to Kannapolis and continued his trucking career, working for Arrow Paving Company in Charlotte, NC.
He meant so much to so many in his life, evidenced by the number of nicknames that he was given. He was referred to as “Angie”, his mom and sister's special name; Angelo; Lo Daddy; Big Lo and Uncle Lo to name a few. Maurice loved to cook, bake and could always be counted on to man the grill. He knew no strangers and was known to make people laugh. He will be missed dearly by his loved ones.
Maurice was preceded in death by his father Fredrick Knox. He is survived by his children Chantel Davis (Emanuel) of Walkertown, NC, Mariah Dobson of Charlotte, NC and Fredrick Knox of Kannapolis, NC; two granddaughters Cadence and Gianna; mother Mary “Tootsie” Knox of Kannapolis, NC; grandmother Ellen Knox of Kannapolis, NC; brothers Tim (Diana) of Harrisburg, NC, Darren (Teresa) of Concord, NC and sister Fonda Knox of Sumter, SC; nieces Kendra, Kianna, Kendall and nephews Timothy and Tyler; Aunts Argie Johnson, Hazel Knox, Johnny Mae Barnes, and uncles Jake Knox and Aaron Davis; loving cousin Benita Hadder and a host of other relatives and friends.
