Melvin Tyrone Davis, Sr., 71, of Cedar St., Concord, NC, passed away Sunday, May 10, at his residence.
He was born March 11, 1949 in Cabarrus County to the late Marvin Davis, Sr. and the late Mary Frances Davis.
Melvin was educated in the Cabarrus County School System and attended Logan/Shankletown School. He was formerly employed by Specialty Dye. Melvin was a member of Liberty Primitive Baptist Church.
Services will be held on Saturday, May 16, at Liberty Primitive Baptist Church, 656 Central Dr., NW, Concord, NC. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM, with funeral services at 3:00 PM, burial will follow at the church cemetery.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings, Marvin Davis, Jr., Michael Davis, Kim Davis, Jewel Davis Scott and Delores Davis Sutton.
Those who remain to cherish fond memories includes his five sons, Robert Jackson of Charlotte, Mark Earl and Marlon Earl both of Gaffney, SC, Melvin Tyrone Davis, Jr. of Las Vegas, NV and Laquette Kelly (Michele) of Concord; four daughters, Melvette Pharr and April Pharr both of Salisbury, Felicia Pharr and Corinthia Knox (Todd) both of Kannapolis; 18 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; three sisters, Mecshell Blackwell (Rev. Reginald) of Jacksonville, FL, Megail Davis and Robin Davis Barber both of Kannapolis; one brother, Ricky Allen of Portsmouth, VA; special friend, Dianne Moore of Las Vegas, NV and of a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
