Mildred Inez Gibson, 66, of Settlers Grove Lane, Salisbury, NC, departed this earthly life on Saturday June 13, 2026, at Tucker Hospice House.

“Boot” as she was affectionately called was born on August 24, 1959, the fifth child of eight to the late Doris Inez Gibson and the late James Arthur Gibson

Her early childhood was spent in Landis, NC.  She received her education in the Rowan County School System.  Mildred was previously employed by Philip Morris.

Services will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Living Water Community Church, 166 N. Little Texas Road, Kannapolis, NC 28083, visitation from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM with funeral service at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Annette Reid and Gwendolyn Gregory; brothers, Tony Reid and James Gibson.

Her legacy will live on through her children, Derrick Gibson of Lexington, SC; Marvin Gibson of Salisbury, NC and Deonna Lawrence of Kannapolis, NC; grandchildren. Dekel Williams (Kim), Jeniah Miller, Omari Steele, Kameron Gibson and Amir Lawrence; great grandchildren, Neaveh Williams and Kaenan Williams; sisters Phyllis Reid and Jacqueline Gibson and brother Marcus Gibson; and a host of nieces, nephew, and cousins.
