Paula Evette Howie, 49, of East 11th St. Kannapolis, NC, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at Atrium Health-Cabarrus.
She was born on December 24, 1976, in Cabarrus County to Carolyn Howie Adams and the late Paul Hammond.
Paula was educated in the Rowan County Schools; and was employed with the Cabarrus County Schools System. She attended Bethel Baptist Church.
Services will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 6740 Macedonia Church Road., Concord, NC. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM, with funeral services at 12:00 PM.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a son, Maxwell Kwame Howie; a brother, Clinton Adams.
Paula is survived by four sons, Daundrell Howie, Daquan Howie, Dashawn Howie, Deonte Howie all of Kannapolis, NC; four grandchildren, Amir Howie, Harmonee Howie, Major Howie, Monty Campbell; mother, Carolyn Adams (Derek) of Mooresville, NC; grandmother, Juanita Howie of Kannapolis, NC; two sisters, Benita McCauley (Kendall) of Concord, NC, Georggetta Howie of Washington, DC; one brother, Demario Rucker of Kannapolis, NC; two special sisters, Miranda Weaks (Pierre) , Courtney McCorkle; special brother, Michael Booker, Jr.; bonus mother, Amy Hair; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends
