Obituary

Ray Propst, Jr., 59, of Austin Run Court Kannapolis, NC, departed this earthly life on Friday, April 29, at Atrium Health - Cabarrus.

He was born September 6, 1962, in Cabarrus County, NC to the late Ray Propst, Sr. and the late Mary Clowney Propst.

Ray was educated in the Rowan County Schools; a graduate of South Rowan High School and attended NC A & t State University.  Ray, was employed by Freightliner and a member of Marable Memorial AME Zion Church where he has served as President of the Lay Council, Trustee, Choir and also the Grand Master of the King Uzziah Masonic Lodge.

Services will be held on Wednesday, May 4,, at Marable Memorial AME Zion Church 400 Huron Street Kannapolis, NC..  Visitation will be 12:00 – 1:00 PM with Funeral Services at 1:00.  Burial will follow at Rutherford Memorial Cemetery.  

Those left to cherish fond memories include his wife Tangela Gaither Propst of the home; daughter, Rachel Propst of Suwanee, GA; two brothers, Michael Todd Propst of Kannapolis, NC, Steven Propst of Morrisville, NC; two sisters, Alicia Miller, Sabrina Miller both of Salisbury, NC; sister-in-law, Lanette Gaither McKee (Kenneth) of Jamestown, NC; brother-in-law, William Gaither, Jr. (Cynthia) of Kannapolis, NC; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
