Rosa Lee Kirkland Saddler, 84, of Rhode Island Ave., Kannapolis, NC, passed away Wednesday, January 29, at her residence.
She was born January 15, 1936 in Fairfield County, SC to the late Cuff Allen Kirkland and the late Pearl McClurkin Kirkland.
Rosa was a graduate of G.W. Carver and completed further studies at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. She was formerly employed in Home Health Care. Rosa was a member of Bethel Baptist Church where she has served on the Usher Board, Welcome Committee and Kitchen Committee.
The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 4, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be at Bethel Baptist Church on Wednesday, February 5, at 1:00 PM with a visitation an hour prior to the service.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George William “Bill” Saddler; brothers, Thomas Allen Kirkland, Sr., Melvin Jerome Kirkland and sister, Mary Davis.
Those left to cherish fond memories include two daughters, Beverly “Bebe” Saddler-Styles (Luther) of Pikesville, MD, Sherry R. Saddler of Durham, NC; son, William Christopher “Chris” Saddler of Kannapolis’ six grandchildren, Parris Rene Styles, Christopher Scott Saddler, William Christopher Saddler, Jr., Gregory Cuff Saddler, Elliott William Styles, Nicholas Thomas Styles; three great grandchildren, Esscence “Essie” Dixon, Sherrod Mock, Amarii Thompson; two brothers, Robert Lee Kirkland (Agnes) of Upper Marlboro, MD, John Louis Kirkland of Kannapolis; two sisters, Lizzie Mae Vaughn of Chicago, IL, Elizabeth Kathleen Elliott (James) of Baltimore, MD; two aunts, Azilee McKnight and Jessie Mae McClurkin both of Charlotte; brother-in-law, Paul Curry, daughter-in-law Lisa Torian; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
