Shamika Cherie Truesdale, 41, affectionately known as “Mika” departed this earthly world on Thursday, September 3, 2020 surrounded by her family.
Shemika was born June 23, 1979 in Cabarrus County to Benita A. Truesdale and Raymond Knox, Jr.
Shamika was educated in the Kannapolis City School System and was a 1997 graduate of A.L. Brown High School. She went on the further her education at Winston Salem State University and Kings College; where she obtained a degree in Business Administration in 2013. Shamika worked at various jobs until her health declined. She was a member of Bethpage United Presbyterian Church where she served as a Youth Advisor.
Service will be held on Wednesday, September 9, at Bethpage United Presbyterian Church, 8701 Mooresville Rd, Concord, NC. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM with funeral services at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Those left to cherish her loving memory include her mother, Benita A. Truesdale of the home; her father, Raymond Knox, Jr. (Randi) of Charlotte; one sister, Neocia Cherae Tillman of Kannapolis; one brother, Anthony Scott Knox (Monique) of Mountain View, CA; two stepsisters, Lauren Bullock & Kayla Bullock both of Charlotte; maternal grandparents, Nina Truesdale McCullough of Kannapolis and Bennie Wilkerson (Joyce) of Virginia Beach, VA; paternal grandparents, Evelyn Scott Knox of Kannapolis and Raymond Knox, Sr. (Charlotte) of Charlotte; for the past four years, Shamika was gifted to raise Trayvon House as her own. She also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many special friends.
