Sheila Elizabeth Johnson Brown, 64, of Roanoke drive, Kannapolis, NC, departed this earthly life on Thursday, January 6, at her residence.
She was born September 6, 1957, in Alleghany County, PA to the late Melvin Johnson, Sr. and the late Constance Brown Johnson.
Sheila was educated in the Pennsylvania Public Schools and was a graduate of Westinghouse High School. She attended NC Central University and received her Bachelor Degree from Barber Scotia College. Sheila was employed with Brown-Russell Enterprises. She was a member of Bethpage United Presbyterian Church where she served on the Usher Board, Choir, former Youth Director; she was also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
Services will be held on Wednesday, January 12, at Bethpage United Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be 1:30 – 2:00 PM with memorial service at 2:00 PM.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Kachelle Grier; two sisters, Francine Johnson and Joyce Johnson.
Those left to cherish fond memories include her husband, Talmadge Brown of the home; two sons, Dorian Brown (Sophia) of Charlotte, NC, Blair Brown of Augusta GA; two step-children, Alylison Alexander of Atlanta GA, Patrick Grier of Kannapolis, NC; five grandchildren, Teresa Kimbrough, Laci Grier, Lemar Grier, Payton Grier, Preston Grier; five sisters, Audrey Holloway, Carolyn Harris, Tina Hall, Iris Paul, Kim Johnson all of Pittsburgh, PA; one brother, Melvin Johnson Jr. of Pittsburgh, PA; special sister-in-law, Sharon Brooks of Kannapolis, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The family is requesting that any floral tributes be plants.
