Shirley Mae Holt Mack, 76, of Concord, North Carolina, passed peacefully from this life on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at Atrium Health Main Hospital in Charlotte, NC. She was born on October 8, 1949, in Union County, the cherished daughter of the late Lee James Holt and Agnes Bernice Staton Holt.

She grew up in the Cabarrus County School System, attending Logan High School and later Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. She found her calling early in life. For much of her working years, Shirley devoted herself to the children and families of Logan Community Daycare Center, bringing the same warmth to her work each day that those who loved her knew so well.

A woman of deep faith and devoted service, Shirley was a proud and active member of First Christian Church. She taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for years. She poured her love of scripture into the children of her congregation with care and consistency. She served on the Diaconate Board and led the usher board as its president. Beyond the church walls, she was a committed member of the NAACP and served on the Logan Daycare Center Board. She believed that people were meant to look after one another.

Services will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Frist Christian Church, 158 Rone Avenue, Concord, NC. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM – 11:30 AM, with funeral services at 11:30 AM.  The burial will follow at Rutherford Cemetery.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Mack; her son, Gerald Holt; her brother, Joe Nathan Holt; and her sister, Agnes Marie Kirkpatrick.

Shirley leaves to cherish her memory her two sons, Gregory Holt (Carla) of Kannapolis, NC, and Graylan Lynch (Tameka) of Concord, NC; six grandchildren, Alisha Mathis, Alexis Jackson, Gerald Holt (Lana), Nicholas Lynch, Ny’Asia Lynch, and Kara Holt; three great-grandchildren, Kailyn Mathis, Adora Jackson, and Jordan Mathis; four sisters, Johnsie Holt, Bonnie Holt Crawford, Patricia Richardson, and Sandra Holt; one brother, Lee James Holt (Latisha); special cousins, Gwendolyn Johnson, Richard Staton, and Ralph Knotts; goddaughter, Alexandria Ferguson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will forever hold her memory close.
