Stacey Marquette Douglas, 55, devoted husband of 25 years to Lynn Marie (Schreck) Douglas of Pineville, North Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on January 13, 2026. Born July 2, 1970, in Concord, NC to Margaret (Roseman) Douglas of Concord, NC and the late Willie Richard Douglas. Stacey graduated from Concord High School, earned his undergraduate degree from Fayetteville State University, and later completed his master’s degree at Gardner-Webb University. Stacey lived a life defined by love, service, and an unwavering dedication to others.
Stacey’s greatest joy was his marriage of 25 years to Lynn. Their bond was one of deep love, respect, and companionship—a partnership that cannot be replaced and will forever be treasured. Together they built a life filled with loyalty, shared adventures, and unwavering support for one another.
Stacey dedicated his 30-year career to education, retiring as an Administrator from Cabarrus County Schools in 2025, most notably at Jay M. Robinson High School and most recently at Hickory Ridge High School. He had a rare gift for connecting with students —seeing their potential when others could not—and inspiring them to believe in themselves. His passion for education was not just a profession but a calling, and countless young lives were touched by his encouragement and belief in their worth.
Beyond his work, Stacey found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved attending youth sporting events, cheering on his students, his family, and any child simply out there giving their best. When he wasn’t at a game, he could be found at the smoker cooking up something delicious or rooting for his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers and Syracuse Orange with Yeti curled up by his side. Stacey and Lynn also cherished traveling and cruising with family and friends. His quick-wit, laughter, warmth, and steadfast presence brought so much joy to every gathering.
Stacey’s legacy is one of kindness, connection, and devotion. Stacey had a natural ability to bring people together, whether through humor, kindness, or simply showing up when someone needed him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, students, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Lynn Marie (Schreck) Douglas, and their faithful companion Yeti. His mother Margaret (Roseman) Douglas. His sister Glenda Boulware (Scotty) & brother Perry Douglas. Stacey shared a special bond with his in laws James & Genevieve Schreck, late Aunt Loretta Marks and sister-in-law, Lori DeCarlo (Giovanni).
Stacey cherished his nieces and nephews—Teon Boulware, Asia Boulware, Sloan Boulware, Taveon Douglas, and Giovanni DeCarlo as well as his great niece Iris Boulware and great nephew Nazier Boulware —each of whom held a special place in his heart.
He also shared a deep bond with his cousins Plyler Hemphill, Lakeshia Madison-Hemphill, Samiah Madison, and PJ Hemphill along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Stacey’s heart extended beyond family — Sean Brown, Sarah Brown, and his Godson Sawyer Brown— all adored him and saw him as a steady, loving presence in their lives.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful staff at Charlotte Orthopedic Hospital, Atrium Cabarrus Hospital, Atrium Pineville Rehabilitation Hospital and Atrium Pineville Hospital for their care and compassion.
