Virgie Lee Seegars Morehead, 93 of Flat Rock Road, Landis NC, passed away Friday, February 13, 2026, at the Oaks of Carrollton in Carrollton, GA.
She was born on December 31, 1932, in Lancaster, SC to the late Cleveland Seegars and the late Hannie Bell McGriff Seegars.
Virgie was a graduate of the South Carolina School System and formerly employed at a Poultry Processing Plant. She was a former member of Macedonia Baptist Church.; where she served on the choir and Missionary Society.
Services will be held on Monday, February 23, 2026, at First Baptist Church, 1311 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, Kannapolis, NC. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM – 10:30 AM, with funeral services at 10:30 AM. The burial will follow at the Salisbury National Cemetery.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Welford Morehead; a daughter, Laura V. Williams.
Virgie is survived by a son, James M. Morehead (Sharon) of Villa Rica, GA; eight grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; special nephew Lafayette Seegars of Spokane, WA; daughter-in-law’s mother, Mary Little of Austell, GA; and a host of nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends.
