William Arthur Farris, Jr.

William Arthur Farris, Jr.  “Poppa” 65, of Sears Ave,  Kannapolis departed this earthly life on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at his residence.

He was born February 2, 1958 in Cabarrus County to William A. Farris, Sr., and the late Estelle Neal Farris.

William was educated in the Cabarrus County School System and was a graduate of A.L. Brown High School.  He was formerly employed in Construction.  William was a member of First Baptist Church.

In addition to his mother,  he was preceded in death by his wife, Priscilla Johnson Farris; daughter, Brandina Johnson; stepmother, Queen Farris; siblings, Debra Farris, Ricky Farris, Michael Blakeney and Tony Leak.

Services will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at First Baptist Church, 1311 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave.,  Kannapolis, NC 28083.  Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM with funeral service at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at National Cemetery  Salisbury, NC on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at 10:00 am.

Those left to cherish fond memories include, one son, Shawn Johnson of Concord; three grandchildren, Shaveyon Johnson, Shanitana Johnson, Ashive Johnson; his father, William A. Farris, Sr. of Kannapolis; his siblings, Gloria Farris – Martin (Roosevelt), Lisa Lyons (Rickey), Tracy Hilton (Marvin), Tommie Ann Jordan (Carl), Sonya Ladda (Roger), Timothy Jordan (Sylvia), and Jessie Farris all of Kannapolis, NC; David Farris and Robert Neal both of Concord, NC; stepson, Marlon Johnson of Kannapolis, stepdaughter, Bresha Johnson; special friend, Bridget Shackleford; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins,  and friends.

Due to Covid-19, masks are appreciated if worn in all services.
