William Lewis “Skipper” Johnson, Sr., 73, of Concord, NC, passed away Thursday, April 23, at Pruitt Health Town Center, Harrisburg, NC
He was born May 11, 1946 in Cabarrus County to the late William Flake and the late Janie Elizabeth Johnson Ross..
Lewis was a 1964 graduate of Logan High School and was formerly employed by Merita Bread. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church where he served on the Usher Board and Men of Integrity. He was also a member of the Masonic Order.
Services will be held on Tuesday, April 28, at Clark Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be 12:00 – 1:00 PM with funeral services at 1:00. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, William L. Johnson, Jr. and Terrence Johnson.
Those who remain to cherish fond memories includes two daughters, Teneka Johnson Roque (Francisco) of Concord, Ann Steele of Florida; two sons, William Damon Johnson of Charlotte, Derrick Washington of Concord; grandson, Francisco Roque, Jr (his partner) and numerous other grandchildren; wife, Mary W. Johnson of Concord, two sisters, Lyndia Gabriel (Walter), Sherri Howard both of Concord; three brothers, Lorenzo Ross of Winston Salem, NC, Samuel Ross (Tonya) of Greensboro, NC, Eric Ross of Concord; special uncle Larry Johnson (Marie) of Pennsauken, NJ, significant other, Gloria White of Kannapolis; special son, William Boulware, Jr. of Concord; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
