Jessie Mae Washington Harris, 63, of Center St., Kannapolis, NC passed away on Thursday, January 14, at Atrium Health-Cabarrus. She was born in Iredell County, on January 21, 1957 to the late Jessie Wilson and the late Clara Mae Washington.
Jessie was educated in the Cabarrus County School System and a graduate of A.L. Brown High School. She worked in the Day Care field for a number of years. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board and Golden Years Ministry.
Services will be held on Thursday, January 21, at Clark Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be 1:00 – 2:00 PM with funeral services at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Thomas Allison.
Those left to cherish her memory includes husband, Samuel A. Harris, Jr. of the home; five sons, Melvin Bennett (Candice) of Kannapolis; Samuel A. Harris, III (MK) of Newport News, VA, Lewis Irving Harris of Pinellas Park, FL, Cason Bennett of Kannapolis, Shane Harris of Charlotte; two daughters, Samantha Taylor (Jarrell) of Willingboro, NJ, Cassandra Harris of Valdosta, GA; 21 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five brothers, Jim Allison, Carl Allison (Ruby), Billy Washington (Romely), Booker T. Washington, Clay Washington; five sisters, Elizabeth Bolder, Clois Washington, Cleo Washington, Mary Johnson, Vanessa Washington and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
